After dining at the horrible restaurant fiasco known as The Broiler Room (I don't suggest it) we decided to give dinner out another shot. We entered "Pell City Steak House" and was seated by a friendly hostess. Our waitress was wonderful, and if you've read any of my reviews, you will see I am very picky. As a consumer, I expect to get what I pay for, and why shouldn't I? Why shouldn't YOU? After looking over the menu, I chose the filet-mignon. I explained what a horrible steak I had had at The Broiler Room, and I was very specific about how I wanted it cooked. She stood patiently, and listened to my instructions, and when she brought me the steak, it was PERFECT! One of the best steaks I've ever had. Tender, juicy, and delicious! I would of given them a 5 star rating, but they don't have a large "sides" selection, and the restaurant is extremely dated. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2 weeks later, a friend and I went here for lunch. We each had a burger and fries. It was typical burger & fries fare, with great service again and not too pricey. I'll go back again and do recommend.

Worst food I've ever had. I ordered a steak and it was as thin as paper, over cooked, and had zero taste. Yuck!!!!

If you had a granny from Alabama this is what she'd feed you. Not fancy, but good! I had the grilled Tilapia (2 nice sized filets seasoned, very tasty). Dinner came with collards/cabbage, 2 very good homemade hush puppies, onion rings dipped in homemade batter, a nice garnish, plus a dinner salad (you might want to ask them to leave off the bacon bits). Husband had the fried oysters (hand battered in a homemade batter), collards/ cabbage, and dinner salad. Ambience is like falling back into a true '50's diner. The service was excellent.

Meat and 3..... Decent.... The lunch special was hamburger patty smothered in brown gravy with 3 sides. Nothing healthy on the menu but thats okay. I would eat here again if I ever had to stop in Pell City.

Me and my husband went for dinner. The salad was from a bag. Salad dressing was from a bottle. Pop was from a can so no refills without paying. Rolls were from a grocery store and breaded veal was the packaged kind you can buy at a grocery store. Gravy was from a powdered mix. In other words, nothing was home made or delicious. The only reason I didn't give it 1 star was because the waitress was very nice and friendly and the service was great. I would have rather stopped at a waffle house, rougher crowd but better food.

Best "meat & 3" around at lunch. Dinner menu is different and not nearly as good. Stick to classic southern specialties and you'll get a good lunch.

We droped in for lunch, while on a Thriftstore/antique store day trip while visiting in ala. Lunch special was catfish fillets with two sides and a dexsert. Nicely done, cheap, and nice little cup of fruit cobbler to finish the meal. One of those local places I like to visit rather than another Denney's or fast food joint.

Meat and 3 hard to beat but great baked chicken and all the veggies you could ever ask for...owner is on deck and even serving.

This place was ehh, well, I've had better. It was recommended by someone local, so we went. Mistake. The french fries were really good however. The burger would have been good had it been a little thicker. The onion slice served with the burger was waaaaay too thick! It was as thick as the meat! I'd say they need to invest in a slicer because you could tell it was cut with a knife. It was thicker on one side than the other as well. I heard someone else complaining about the same thing. That was my hubby's order...an onion burger & fries, and mine was a catfish plate. The fish was a little over cooked with hard edges and it was not allowed to drain off good because there was too much grease on the plate. Also, it was obvious they did not use a fryer basket because the fish was loaded with all the extra corn meal that fell off when fried. I could hardly eat for having to dust the meal off of me...even after I got home. I ate right over my plate, but you would have thought I ate it with my hands over my lap. Hushpuppies were pretty good though. Tartar sauce was terrible. It was sweet, like they made it with a diet or light mayo because it had a jiggly pudding consistency. That would be an item I would order from a distributor if I couldn't make it any better. A lady behind me was complaining about it as well. Also, on the catfish plate they put lettuce, a slice of tomato, and about 6 pickle slices...for what I do not know because I wasn't having a sandwich. And when they put the pickles on the plate, they didn't bother to drain those off either because my fish was lying in that grease & pickle juice. It came with 3 onion rings, which the batter was not really a batter and more of a flakey crust that fell off the onion too easily and they were also over cooked. I noticed over half of the customers there ordered burgers, so that must be what they go there for because besides the one other lady with catfish, I believe I saw chicken fingers or something like that on one other person's plate. Oh and the sides...there was a list of maybe four side items besides the salad and choice of baked potato or fries offered on every plate. The 1000 Island dressing was very similar to the tarter...undesirable. I guess if you want a burger, this would be the place to go for one closer to being home-cooked because there's plenty of fast food burger places around. As far as eating similar foods, I'd go back on the other side of I-20 and eat at Golden Rule BBQ...their food like this is more consistent.
